The Chicago Chic is an online resource cataloguing modern Chicago culture with a focus on millennials, parents, change makers and the creative community. Launched in January 2013, the blog provides a globalist perspective on local Chicago businesses, culture, food, architecture and fashion. The blog is edited by Nancy Rahman, who is also the founder and contributing photographer. The website’s mission is to expose Chicago to the global eye by building engaging and inspiring stories for it’s readers and followers.
Editor’s note: I started the Chicago Chic late 2012 in the hope that I can capture and share the sights and sounds of the city, documenting it for family and friends back home. It’s now grown to fulfill a bigger purpose and mission with the help of my friends and contributing writers. I hope you enjoy reading and exploring a place where we can introduce this incredible city and people that shape Chicago, with a global perspective.
A personal thanks to everyone that is a part of this project.
Nancy Rahman Born in Cairo, I have lived most of my life in Dubai with a stint in New York for college and now living in Chicago with my (British) husband and son. Growing up, I’ve always been interested in the Arts but pursued careers in other industries. Living in New York and London, addictions to fashion and art magazines, an insatiable appetite for travel and an embarrassing number of music festivals- I’ve exposed myself to all sorts of creativity & culture which gave me an opportunity to start an Art & Culture project, The Chicago Chic. A connector by nature, people have inspired my work, career and life general. I enjoy featuring local Chicagoans and entrepreneurs, write about Fashion and Travel journals of places I visit. Please get in touch, I’d love to hear your thoughts! nancy(at)thechicagochic.com
