Fall Style: One romper, three ways

Summertime Chi was an absolute blast, but now it’s time to say goodbye to one magical season and hello to another. After wearing cut offs, dresses, and rompers (essentially the least amount of clothing as possible) for the past couple months, I’m ready for some autumn layering. While I’m pumped to rotate my fall favorites back into my everyday wear, I’m not quite ready to put away my slinky summer numbers. Thankfully I don’t have to.

I was thinking about how I can get a few more wears out of my favorite AKIRA romper, and then the solution hit me. Layering. DUH. Fall fashion 101 is all about layers that are easy to put on and take off as the weather fluctuates throughout the day. When I was thinking about how I could style my favorite romper for these colder temps, two ideas came to mind. Day and night.

Layering a simple loose fitting sweater over your romper or sundress is the perfect way to style your summer clothes for fall. I especially love the jewel tones going on here. This outfit is layering gold because the bulky sweater helps even out the short romper. So you’ll be warm without breaking a sweat if the sun comes out later in the afternoon. You even have the option of removing the sweater and tying it around your waist for a more 90’s vibe. Take the fall look an extra step with your favorite OTK boots. This way you can still show off your hard earned summer tan without freezing.

Now a drumroll for the swap to night time…

Bing bang POW! After a few substitutions, you’re ready for a fall night out on the town. I actually wore this outfit to my brother’s epic 31st birthday bash and it was the best decision ever. During the beginning of the party, we were outside for cocktail hour. The sun had set, and it was getting chilly. Boy oh boy was I glad I had this suede moto jacket to throw over my perfect party romper. Fast forward a couple hours to the outdoor dance party. After dancing through a few (amazing) songs, I was getting a bit warm. Luckily I could ditch the jacket and still look amazing. Pro tip: add a few gold necklaces to any low cut dresses or rompers. It definitely adds a little bit of sexiness to the look.

Oh fall, you’re a strange season, but you’re the best one ever.
